NCI is not built around a resume or a credential. It is built around a realization: that most brand work, even when it looks good, is not building anything. It labels. It creates a version of you that works for today. It rarely makes room for what you are supposed to become.
The client NCI is built for already understands that being different is not a liability. It is the point. For that person to find this work, the work itself has to be built for them. Specific enough to stop the right person. Honest enough that they already know what to expect.
That is what this studio is for. One engagement at a time.
Jaja Russ did not come from an agency. He came from the freelance side, where briefs stay shallow and the work moves fast. Clients who didn't come asking for a brand. They came asking for something to get by with. A logo for a card. Something that said we exist without stopping to ask why.
The invoices got paid. The work kept moving. At some point, that stopped being okay.

For years, the only ask was for the first kind. NCI exists because of a decision to stop producing work that had nowhere to go.
